Yesterday Went to Lincoln Glen apartment complex in Fremont CA (which is owned by Cushman & Wakefield) , and gave them a rundown of my situation. Not going to going to detail but basically I had a derogatory mark from a previous experience at an apartment and left a bad situation I asked would that impact me. And the lady basically said I had no chance of getting the apartment. Mind you this was without even looking at my credit. A black guy with dreads walking into a neighborhood in the Bay area doesn't seem ideal I'm guessing. So maybe there was some other agenda, it's one thing to check the credit and say there's nothing they can do for me, it's another thing to not even bother and basically shoo me away, very unprofessional. Another thing that didn't sit particularly well with me is that I had experience because back when I was living at my previous residence, a family member of mine who had horrible credit and an eviction was able to get approved for the apartment with me because I had good credit and a great history. When I asked them if this scenario would work in my favor if somebody else had a great history and signed up for the apartment with me she said no which made no sense to me.

Inquired about a unit up for lease & was immediately turned down by Mr Jon DeCoite stating businesses like mine have been in his own words “fronts” for other purposes. I don’t know what he meant by that but I felt greatly offended & felt like this was very unprofessional as we have an established business & he shut us down using nothing but his own personal opinion. I would DEFINITELY not go through these people for any of my real estate needs horrible customer service.
