I have had good results with Dr. Hood for 6 years, but the finance manager and the front office clerks are terrible, unethical and unprofessional people. They make constant mistakes. I have had a great relationship with the nurses and Dr Hood, but had to complain several times due to mistakes on billing and not crediting my paid copayments, each visit telling me I have a balance. Recent visit was told I had a $120 balance, I asked front office what it was for- they didn’t even know and were rude, slammed the window in my face and made me wait on finance manager and would not release my name to be called for labwork even after I paid the $50 copay for that day- which covers the daily lab cost. I was made to wait 1 1/2 hours to speak to finance manager because I would not blindly pay $120 with no explanation. Ultimately figured out they made mistakes, didn’t credit previous copays correctly and billed copays incorrectly. Spoke to financial manager and paid corrected $80 balance. Had a great visit with Dr. Hood that day for follow up after having CABG Surgery. He smiled and was happy with all my improvements and low A1C. Mentioned to Dr Hood the issues with front office staff and billing staff mistakes. He said to speak with the office manager- so I did and expressed the issues. She was kind, agreed with my concerns and all seemed well. A week later I get a certified letter dropping me as a patient. I was very hurt and shocked after having a great relationship with Dr Hood and nurse for 6+ years. No explanation at all. I called and emailed the office manager. She just stated she didn’t know why and that Dr Hood just gave her the letter. I believe I was slandered to Dr Hood by the front office staff. Stay away from these people they will lie, treat you like a sub-human and do not care about you even after years of being a model patient.

Dr. Hood are all the staff are top notch. Took really good care of my friend. Thank you all. As a nurse I don’t really care about attentiveness but the patient was taken good care of and was given thorough education.

Type 1 went in with a great A1c but had several high bs the week before when Hood told me he couldn’t “do” anything with those numbers? Told him I had a bad week he repeated what he said at first. Since my A1c was good I said I don’t think you’re listening to me he got up and threw me out of his office. Not even a decent human. That happened 3years ago and I now have a good Dr. who actually listens. What a difference.
