This flight school is amazing. Not only are the instructors top-tier, but it's a great community. I got my license here three years ago and have continued flying at Aerodynamic recreationally as well as taking lessons intermittently. I'd highly recommend this flight school/club to anyone in the area!

Hands-down Aerodynamic aviation is a great school to get your pilot license, rent a plane, or have a bay tour. Great owners, front desk staff, awesome instructors, and maintenance folks. Also, one of the least expensive prices in the Bay Area. The school has a very positive dynamic always improving itself in all areas. Below, one can find more details. The school is a great fit for future Commercial Pilots who need 250 hours and don't want to pay through the nose for it. A global rule for receiving your pilot license: be prepared for these four items - correct estimations, money, time, and commitment. As for estimations, for the Private Pilot license, expect 90 plus hours here, any timeless is for those exceptional few. If 45-60 hours are within your time frame, I would go for the Sport license. The school is pretty strict and for good reasons, so they have some extra internal stages. If you have any concerns, contact the Chief Instructor Jen. She does a great job addressing any issue and cares a lot about the school. I would also recommend you find an instructor who is an enthusiast and loves flying on top of gaining hours for ATP.

Likely the most affordable place for lessons and airplane rental in Bay Area, run by enthusiasts, friendly and competent front desk, feels like home, no problem flying after hours, and they do maintenance too! As a flight school, the safety bar has gone up over the years - expect to fly a few extra hours to get the license, but you'd be a much safer pilot in the end. And don't get fixated on just the Cessnas - Citabria and SportStar are more fun to fly and cost a little less per hour :D

I was with Helena on the day of the San Francisco tour, and we are upset that the owner replied to Helena’s original comment with an untruthful message: 1. The weather was clear that day as we saw multiple planes took off while we were waiting, this can also be proved by the following pictures we took at the airport. 2. We did not receive any message from the pilot or the owner: the front desk staff said the pilot was not answering they phone and the owner was at a remote location. The front desk staff did offer an alternative time for 12 pm (while our booking was 10am, but we had other plans so had to refuse the offer), this wouldn’t make sense if the weather wouldn’t permit taking off.
