Sargent's Moving company did a perfect job in moving (mostly) large and/or heavy furniture pieces to our new home. They worked diligently, were careful, had positive attitudes and even offered us a discount - (which we hadn't requested as we felt their quote was fair) - when they completed their work. We would recommend them without reservations.

The OWNER Greg Sargent was professional, he is straight forward and honest. Greg S. helped me get out of a place during one of my lowest moments. I needed to move out of my rental and with no notice. Greg S. came through for me, he and his crew were prompt, careful, fast, and very respectful of my possessions. Owner Greg Sargent is Kind, Pleasant, and Strong demeanor. I would definitely recommend Sargent's Moving to anybody, anywhere that's planning a move.

Sargent’s moved a family member of mine to their new home. From the experience I had just witnessing their work I would never hire them myself. The owners mouth NEVER stops running. He made comments that made us uncomfortable, said nobody was helping him but when my family tried to help he would turn them down rudely. The owner was definitely the problem, not his helper. From this experience I myself would not hire them.

I used Sargent's Moving in January 2013 for a move within VT. I'd rate my experience "Fair" in some areas, and "Good" in others. I called and gave Greg a chance to respond to my complaints, and told him that was writing this review. He did call me back, but did not seem concerned about the problems I had with my move. Instead he talked about all the moves he has done where there were no problems, as if that should make it all better for me. The response was an "oh well, sometimes this happens." A few pieces of my furniture were damaged in the move. There was a dent in a wooden one, and a significant scrape on the finish of another. A family heirloom was not handled well, and pieces did not go back together well when we unpacked. Our washing machine got a dent and scratches, but still works. Also, one of our box springs was torn and dirty, as if it was dragged. This moving company does not use canvas bags (as used by other moving companies we have experience with) plastic sheeting or anything to cover mattresses and box springs. They are just loaded onto the dirty truck. They did wrap stuff with a few furniture pads, but the pads are not secured with tape, and can shift and slip. My furniture could have been protected better, as the damage proves. To be fair, their rates are fairly reasonable, and they got the job done in the time that was estimated. A friend of mine warned me not to use this company; said that they have a reputation for breaking stuff. I had already arranged and booked a date for this move, and had them move us anyway. I am not happy that my furniture and appliance received the damage that they did while being moved by Sargents. Based upon my only experience with this company, I would not recommend them to a friend.

The Lamoille Valley region is so lucky to have a business like Sargent’s Moving. They are a well-run, local business that is also community-minded. We at the Lamoille Family Center consider them to be part of our family, and we are very grateful for their generous contributions of their time and talent. They get the job done efficiently and with a friendly attitude!
