Schea Van Lines was exceptional in nearly every way. A real excellent to deal with, that's rare that is ever said about a mover. However, all details were paid attention to and that is why I'm willing to write a nice review about Schea Van Lines. I had heard about Schea Van Lines from a friend that lived not far from our family home in the subdivision. They had a very pleasant experience so we figured we would call the same guys to come out for an estimate. Schea Van Lines did just that and we felt it was very thorough. Four men and two trucks came out on the move day. They started by padding all doorways wood floors. After prepping, the home they prepared the furniture to then be handled. Quick and careful they were. After we were moved into the new address, they made sure all was built properly and assembled correctly. The overall move came in just a few hundred dollars over the initial bid. As my neighbor once did, I too will refer Schea Van Lines.

Schea Van lines did a wonderful job taking care of my home during our move. They went above and beyond to ensure that my home furniture was taken care of as it was their own. The price seemed more than fair and their workers showed up on time and were very respectful!

We used Schea Van Lines for our move in 2016, they contracted with Silverback Moving. It cost us $800 for them to move the furniture out of a 3 bedroom home. We moved everything else ourselves. They damaged the heavy/expensive items and did not fix or compensate for the damage. They ruined our treadmill and tore the leather on our couches in the move. They were supposed to be insured but quit responding to our calls after we pursued the repairs. The fine print on the insurance is covering per pound of items so items with extensive damage are not likely to be fully covered. Movers moved slowly which is frustrating when you’re paying by the hour. In the time in took the movers to load up the furniture from a 3 bedroom house, we had moved and unloaded everything else from our place. They workers lunch break also counted in the hours we paid for (I’m not saying they shouldn’t get lunch but I shouldn’t be charged for it as the customer). The movers couldn’t figure out how to fit all the furniture in the moving truck and kept trying to leave some of our furniture behind until I insisted and showed them where to fit it in their moving truck. They weren’t smart packers and didn’t utilize vertical packing space. Couches: I had 3 in the move, one microfiber and 2 leather. It was a hot day and the movers were quite sweaty and the microfiber cloth couch was literally soaked in their sweat when done. My high quality leather couches both ended up torn as if the leather hit the key plate and they shoved it through, tearing the leather. When we called about the tears in the leather they tried to say we didn’t have a cover on them and it wouldn’t be covered. Thankfully we had had covers on them but the movers removed them so it was covered. However, they had us pay for a repair estimate and go from there. They agreed to reimburse the repair estimate.However, after we paid for the estimate, $500 in damage by the way, Schea Vanlines quit responding and never reimbursed me for the estimate. Treadmill: This was being moved from a front living room in the old house into the basement of the new house. Schea charged an extra $75 to move this. When they got to the new house, the movers couldn’t figure out how to get it in the door of the new place. (New place door was bigger by some inches than the old one) So we asked them to take it apart to move it if they couldn’t get it in the door as is. They ended up stripping some of the screws so they couldn’t get it in the new house at all and had to leave it in the garage. Because they couldn’t get the treadmill in the new house, they agreed to charge only half of the $75 fee. So, we paid them $37.50 to leave us a broken treadmill in our new garage. Somewhere in the move, the treadmill electrical wires were stripped and many wires were split. When we attempted to make the claim, Schea Vanlines asked us to turn it on to see if it still worked. We insisted that wasn’t safe so they agreed to send out a technician. They never sent the technician and quit communicating with us. Many calls were attempted on our end before giving up. This was my first experience with hiring movers and will likely be my last.
