Elizabeth Sharkov designed a fully functional and beautiful bathroom renovation for my husband with Parkinson's Disease, taking into consideration his current mobility status, and looking forward to a future when wheelchair access may be necessary. She thought of every detail - a voice activated wheel-in shower, a bidet toilet, heated floor (since he associates cold with wet), grab bars in all the right places, all in a "space challenged" footprint. She maximized every square inch, retained the historic quality of the 1920's era Spanish revival home by recycling original windows, and negotiated the complex permitting process in the City of Los Angeles and State of California with patience. Visitors to the space would never associate it with disability, and resale value of the property has been enhanced. Elizabeth worked well with the contractor, and was always available to answer questions and oversee. During the Covid lockdown, her ability to bring product samples to our home was much appreciated. Elizabeth introduced us to suppliers with the best prices, as well.

Elizabeth was my architect for a major kitchen remodel. My 90 year old kitchen had never been updated. Elizabeth's design opens the kitchen to the rest of the house and to our outdoor patio. The kitchen is now beautiful and functional. It flows seamlessly from one space to another. It is a pleasure to work in my new kitchen! Elizabeth set very high standards for herself and for everyone involved in the remodel. She was passionately involved in the project from the beginning to the end. Elizabeth also was my advocate though the whole remodeling process. I could call her at any time with any question and she always provided a quick and professional response. Elizabeth is a wonderful architect. I hired her because I was stuck - it was my first home improvement project and I had had very bad experiences with incompetent contractors and designers. I called Elizabeth, hoping she could straighten out all the things that had gone wrong, and come up with some good ideas to help me finish my house and put it back together. She listened to my ideas, then came back with drawing and ideas that were much better than what I had envisioned. Her primary goal was to create something workable, aesthetically pleasing, moderately priced and easily accomplished. Her fee was quite reasonable, and to tell the truth, saved me much more than I would have spent if I had tried to design the project myself. She was always prompt and pleasant, and I looked forward to her visits as a ray of sunshine in the otherwise tense and anxious atmosphere of home remodeling. She dealt with hiring the contractor and supervising the workmen. If her standards were not met, they were ordered to redo the work. I was impressed. I can't recommend a better person for any project than Elizabeth. She is honest, straightforward, creative, respectful, realistic and elegant.
