These folks were fantastic to work with. I had an unusual shipment. Reggie took the time to see where we were moving from and we were moving to, to confirm they could handle the shipment. He was prompt the morning were were expecting him. He helped with the loading and made sure it was well secured. I’d highly recommend this company.

I have moved more than 25 times in my not-so-short life, usually for very long distances. Except for a great moving company that I used for nearly 10 years when I lived in Australia, my experience with moving companies has ranged from mediocre to spectacularly awful. I have lived all over the world, but I grew up in Seaford and moved back to Virginia last September (from Oregon which was my worst move ever). We have been living in Norfolk and bought a house in Portsmouth.
When it was time to start planning the move, I asked friends and relatives for recommendations and the consensus was that I needed to use Seaford Transfer. I was a little skeptical that a Seaford-based company would be willing to travel to Norfolk, but they said they were more than happy to accommodate our needs.
Everything went uphill from there. I now regret not taking notes so that I could thank by name all of the people at Seaford Transfer who made this experience so wonderful. The first person I spoke to on the phone was friendly, professional and genuinely seemed to want to make sure that the move went flawlessly. The estimator (with the awesome tattoo on her foot) was extremely thorough and very patiently answered all of my dumb questions with a smile on her face.
We arranged for ST to pack everything as well as move us. I had to work on both days, so I learned about how perfectly both days went from my husband who was there on both days. The team arrived on time to pack, and arrived the next day a bit early for the move itself. In addition to our apartment (which involved quite a few stairs), the team emptied out a storage unit with the stuff that wouldn't fit in our temporary apartment. Painless! Both days were completely stress-free, and we had none of the last minute "problems" that end up costing money that I experienced with every other move in my life.
Here's the best part..... The quote from Seaford Transfer for the move was not cheap, but it was very reasonable. There was also a fairly hefty travel charge given that a total of 3 trucks and 10 folks commuted from York County to Norfolk/Portsmouth for this move. We are mostly unpacked, and everything arrived in exactly the same condition as it left out apartment. Not a single scratch, ding, crease or dent in anything. I organized a cashier's check from my bank to cover the estimate and planned to pay for any overage with a credit card on the day. The actual final charge came out to about $600 LESS than the estimate and they promised to mail me a check for the overpayment the next day.
When we bought this house (less than a year after moving across the country) I swore that my next move would be in a hearse. After this experience, and only if Seaford Transfer gets to be involved, I may have to rethink that. Seriously folks, this is the best moving company I have ever come across or even heard about. Google needs to make an exception so I can give these excellent people 10 stars. With a cherry on top!

I can't say enough about my move with Seaford Transfer. I've moved a lot, and this was hands down the best experience I've ever had with any company. They were a little pricey, but it was absolutely worth it. Santos was our foreman and I'm sad that I didn't get the names of the other two members of his crew b/c I would love to praise them as well. They were fast, careful, pleasant, professional, followed instructions and even reassembled our bed better than All My Sons who did my previous move. All My Sons was garbage compared to Santos' crew. They didn't scuff one wall or ding one piece of furniture. I wish Santos and his crew had moved me the first time. I would highly recommend Seaford Transfer, especially Santos, to anyone looking to move.

I booked Seaford Transfer for a long-distance move in September 2022. The movers arrived on time and loaded our belongings largely without incident. The moving truck was set to arrive the next morning, so when it did not arrive promptly I had to make arrangements for people to be available all day to receive it. It wasn't until late in the day when I texted them for an ETA that someone called and told me that the truck had broken down the previous night, hundreds of miles from my new place.
A faulty part had caused the truck to break down, and it had been towed to the nearest large city. They had no idea when a new part would arrive, but were content to allow my belongings to remain in limbo until that happened. They were insistent that they could not get another truck to replace the broken one, even though in the end it took five days to complete what should have been an overnight move. According to them, the truck was too far away (300 miles) for them to be able to do anything, which seemed like an odd attitude for a long-distance moving company.
Finally, on the sixth day after my move began, we received our items. The movers were polite and the unloading went without incident. They apologized for the things that had gone wrong during the move and for the lack of communication, and promised that someone from their financial office would be in touch very soon to arrange compensation for the considerable logistical problems we had faced. I never received a call. After another six days, I called the office and was told they were reviewing my case and would call me that afternoon. They did not call. The next day I called again, and was finally called back by the finance person. He said that after reviewing everything that had happened, they would refund a portion of our money, which ended up being less than 10% of the cost of the move. I accepted it because I was very tired of dealing with it at that point.
Seaford Transfer may be a decent company for a local move. Their movers seem to do a good job loading and unloading. I used them once before just for an unloading job and it went fine. I would absolutely not recommend them for any long-distance or complicated move, or any situation where you cannot physically go into their office to speak with them if necessary.
