I ordered a very expensive sofa from a North Carolina furniture manufacturer. Sexton & Sons received the sofa on a Wednesday, and I had no idea they had received it until I called. They first said they would deliver either Thursday, Monday or Tuesday. On Thursday, they said they might deliver Friday. On Friday, they said they might deliver Saturday. On Monday morning, I called them requesting they deliver my sofa that day. They could not accommodate our time frame, but they assured us they would deliver by 10 am Tuesday. At 10 am, we had heard nothing. I called them, and they said the sofa had left the warehouse on the truck. No one had called even though I had specifically requested they call BEFORE leaving Richmond. They finally appeared at my home about 11 am. The entire time they had the sofa, they NEVER called me. I called them EVERY SINGLE TIME we spoke. I have never encountered such a disorganized, uncommunicative business as Sexton & Sons. Finally, my boyfriend, who was at home to receive the sofa, said the two delivery persons were very unprofessional seeming and that they both "looked like pillheads." Now, I get to enjoy the discomfort that comes with worrying that these two have been inside my home. The only good thing I can say is that they did manage to not damage my furniture, but I chalk that up to the wonderful job the manufacturer did with packing instead of any particular care taken by the delivery company. I would not use this company again, and I called and emailed the furniture company to inform them that their shipping company should never contract with these people again. What horrible service!

Delivery associate completely unprofessional. This particular delivery was a display cooler which was scheduled to be delivered to a national retail / pharmacy store. Delivery driver called the location approximately 45 minutes before arriving. Driver requested to speak to manager. Location manager informed driver to park behind building and deliver cooler through back door. Upon arrival, driver entered location front door. Location manager asked driver to pull their truck to the back of the store to unload cooler. Driver requested to bring cooler in the front door. Location manager informed driver again that all deliveries must be made through the locations back door. The driver again insisted to deliver through the front door. At this point the location manager explained to the driver that it was the company policy that all deliveries enter through the back door, absolutely no exceptions. Manager further explained to driver " I am sorry but that is company policy". Driver was overheard saying " You bet your sorry" as he exited building. Shortly thereafter the manager opened the back door for arrival of product. The delivery driver once again argued against having to deliver through the back door. The delivery driver even went so far as to verbally question our policy. Yet again the manager was forced to firmly explain the policy to the driver. At this point the driver became extreamly argumentative. The driver rolled the cooler through the back door. Manager requested that the driver date, sign and time stamp a delivery vendor log. The driver again became argumentative exclaiming, "I'm not a vendor ". Ultimately, the vendor log was signed. Finally after much unnecessary instruction, the cooler was in place. Now it was time for paperwork. The driver took it upon himself to argue that the paperwork stated he could deliver through the location front door. The manager once again was forced to explain the policy although it was at this point unclear whether the driver was capable of understanding the policy. At this point the cooler was turned on, all paperwork was signed and the driver was leaving, through the back door. In the end, this was an extremely disappointing experience which called for an unnecessary amount of direction. I would not recommend this company.

Everyone at Sexton and Sons were polite and punctual. I spoke with Mr. Sexton and agreed on a price to move a few large, heavy items (including a piano). His team arrived on team and were polite and did a great job. Highly recommended.

Wish I could rate this mover minus stars. Was promised covid testing and promised same day pick up and delivery. Kept household belongings on truck for 4 days. Told movers not covid tested after truck was packed. Had to stay in hotel for 4 night waiting for delivery. Mr. Sexton tried to extend delivery date even longer. Boxes arrived damaged, furniture scratched and large amount of money missing from truck. Have learned that police have had other complaints. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER.

Hired them to move my daughter and the didn’t show up. I had to call their office and he told me he was trying to find people to come work. Long story short, he cancelled on me leaving my daughter stranded and scared. Worst company ever. Will report this to BBB and post on all social media. RIDICULOUS!!!!
