I used Thomas Movers for my move in September of 2019. I purchased the move off of Groupon, the deal was supposed to be $99, two hours, two men, and a truck. My move was fairly easy, a bedroom, including matresses and some boxes. All of my were wrapped accordingly from the previous move, as everything was in storage. First, after scheduling the move, I was told that in addition to the Groupon, I would be assessed an additional $100 for fuel and trip charge., which meant that I actually paid the full price for the move. Second, on the day of my move I was given a window of 4pm to 7pm. At approximately 6:45 I called the owner "Richie the mover" to inquire about the location and eta of the movers. He apologized and told me that they were held up at another job, but assured me that they would be on their way within 15 minutes. After they arrived to me they began moving my things, and it would seem as if they didn't know exactly how to move the items. My dresser for instance, i had to instruct them to turn the dresser on its side to put it on the box roller, when I say box roller I mean the square shaped wood apparatus with wheels. They initially tried to place my dressr on this in its regular upright position, which would have caused the legs to drag. Upon arriving at the destination, they moved the items into the space and I asked if one of them could help me turn the dresser in its front facing position because it had been placed in the room backwards. When the worker picked up his side, I noticed the wobble in the rear leg, and when I began to point it out he said "is this supposed to be like this?", to which I replied, "No"... EVERYTHING was intact when it left the storage facility, and now... I have a broken leg. I called the owner and reported this incident, I sent him pictures and he assured me that he would look into the matter. I had to follow up with him text because he would not return my calls. After I threatened to sue him if he didn't respond, he finally texted me back and said that his insurance said that they would not cover the damage because the shrink wrap was not the color of the color of the shrink wrap that they use. I didn't commission them to wrap my furniture, it was already wrapped and stored... I commissioned them to transport it to another location. I would NEVER recommend for anything! The service was horrible, the management was horrible, the workers were in a hurry and careless with my belongings. It was an overall horrible experience.

I just tried to book Thomas movers for my move; I called in after finding them on groupon (prior to purchasing) to get more information about any additional fees and check the availability and the receptionist was very rude. She said that they are no longer accepting groupons for the time being and I told her that that was fine and I did not purchase one yet. She told me not to buy one (even though I already said that I didn't -- I spoke very clearly and don't have any hint of an accent that would make me not understandable) and in the middle of me asking how much was the normal move rate ("What is your normal rate for..." was all I could get out), she cut me off and said "were booked" and hung up on me. I would have had zero issue using the services at normal prices given they are reasonable but I didn't even get the opportunity to ask (I did not see the prices on the website for local moves) and It was odd that she told me they were booked when I didn't even tell her when my move date was.
