I went to Dr. J for both of my pregnancies. He's a good doctor and a kind man. The staff is great, they treat you with kindness. It kinda feels like they're family after going there so long. So thankful I have this office with these wonderful people in my town.

I went through 2 pregnancies here, Dr. Johnston delivered both. Sometimes appointments run late when they get behind but I love this office. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful, they even helped me with the LVN program at the college who they work with. Overall never a bad experience.

If I could give a negative amount of stars I would. Let me preface this by saying my NP that I have been seeing for years is excellent. So this has nothing to do with her. With that said, I am absolutely appalled at the lady Vivian (or Viv) who answers the phones. She should never have any position in which she works directly with the public much less in a medical facility. My father who is a veteran has been trying to get into their office as a new patient and the VA finally transferred them there. My mother, who is 75 years old, called to talk with the patient coordinator and Vivian with a horrible attitude scolded my mom like a child and hung up on her. Then my wife called and Vivian hung up on her twice. After the third time calling back my wife got to Vivian’s supervisor. She made a failed attempt to get my father into the office as a new patient. My wife was eventually stonewalled. As great as the medical staff is there, people like Vivian leave a stain on the whole facility.

Appointments are easier to schedule than most and they’re quick but the doctors here don’t do any follow ups for sick patients without an appointment. I got some test results back that were not good and I was told I needed to schedule another appointment to go over the results, which costed me another copay. So I paid to get the test done and I had to pay to go over the results. The office doesn’t run efficiently for its sick patients. After I go over my sickness and what I need from the office I plan to see another provider that will actually care for me, my finances, and my overall health.

The nurses were alright. The nurse practitioner who helps the practice was my favorite. However, the male doctor needs to retire or something; every visit I had with him, he was constantly distracted, always went on rants about stuff that was irrelevant to me, was terrible at delivering bad news, let one of his nurses constantly interrupt the appointment, he would talk about his patients after they left to his nurses loudly to the point where people in the waiting room could hear, and the list goes on. What I really didn’t like about this office was that I initially made an appointment to see a specific doctor, but they disregarded my request, and anybody available at the time would see me. This makes the office seem SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Furthermore, since I continued to get bad news from this doctor (with terrible terrible delivery), I would have appreciated it if they kept a record of my current status where the other medical staff could have easily seen it. Every time I visited, they either had no clue what I was going in for; which made it frustrating because then I had to explain the bad news I got over and OVER to them! I know that it’s hard to find medical care here, but the next time I need an OBGYN I would rather drive 30+ minutes than visit this practice again.
