Potential customers beware - Tim at Torqued sold me a "new" Tillett seat, which was actually a floor demo model (that I even sat in myself at their storefront), then proceeded to charge me a 30% fee when I returned it with minor swirl marks in the finish, many of which were preexisting. This amounted to $1000 out of my pocket. He then proceeded to ignore any further communications. Extremely unprofessional business. 9/16/19 Edit: The facts remain that I did not receive a flawless seat, and was subsequently charged an exorbitant and arbitrary fee when a flawless seat was not returned. I never denied that some of the minor cosmetic damage could have resulted from my own handling or shipment. I had simply requested that the fee charged to me be representative of the split responsibility for the damage, and the true cost to repair or discount the item. That request was not answered. Then we come to the question of misrepresentation of the condition of the B7 XL seat I was sold. I’ll likewise be happy to post pictures of the B7 XL and B1 seats sitting out on the floor of your facility. Given the manufacturing lead times for these seats, I find it highly unlikely that the B7 XL seat that shipped to me immediately after payment was not the exact 1 seat you had in stock, that I sat in at your storefront. I suspect your inventory and order tracking (along with those of the manufacturer, Tillett) would tell the same story, versus the printed unique Tillett order number on each seat. Or maybe the other person who snagged the discounted B7 XL floor demo unit during this narrow window of opportunity can chime in to defend your case... It’s clear my money is long gone at this point. My mistakes and costly learning experience should serve as warning and information to others: 1. Purchasing a fixed composite seat is quite tricky. The seat must fit not only your body, but numerous constraints inside the vehicle, and also be accessible for entry/exit of the vehicle. Do not assume anything, try to find someone with the exact seat of interest in your same vehicle who will let you test the seat. Otherwise, expect the possibility of having to return a seat. 2. Do not assume that because it is a seat that you will be sitting in, and much of it is not visible when installed in your car, that ANY flaws upon receipt are acceptable. Inspect every square inch of the seat from multiple viewing angles under bright white light. Composites, due to their fibrous nature, depth, and colors, can hide many defects. Composite parts are rarely perfect out of the tool by nature. Photograph and document everything, because you will be charged for everything in the event you have to return the seat. 3. Save every piece of tape, plastic, and other packaging material. The omission of a plastic bag and the original packing tape apparently constitutes non-original packaging. 4. Choose whom you do business with wisely. PS - 9/10/19 @ 1:03PM B1 return delivery minus 8/13/19 @ 3:15PM B1 original shipment equals 27 days 21 hours 48 minutes, which is less than 30 days, last I checked. PPS - $959.16 is the total fee I was charged. $54.05 of that was the original shipping expense, leaving my fee at $905.11. Facts are facts, math is math.
