I hired Tri-State to provide two helpers to assist us moving a single table that required four people to move. The team showed up late, in street clothes and had us pay up front. The table needed to be removed from my truck before the job even started. This portion of the job should have only needed 2 people, as two of us loaded it beforehand, but thought 4 people would have made it that much easier. Instead, the Tri-State movers did not listen to our instructions - given both beforehand and in real time, due to either language barrier or inexperience. Instead one of them decided it was okay to put the table down directly on a corner of the table top, permanently damaging it. The “hard part” of the move had not even started yet and our table was damaged. Instead of apologizing they said they should have done it themselves without help, despite the men we hired clearly having just struggled with the weight of half of the table and not understanding what was asked of them. Fast forward to me speaking with whom I booked the job with. Again, no apologies or owning of the mistake and instead I was met with every excuse you could think of. In the end it was “my fault”. I was offered $36 (maybe) if insurance covered it, on a table that cost thousands of dollars. All I wanted was some compensation for what it would cost to fix the table - not even the full amount they priced this 20 minute disaster of move at: $550.00. Do not hire tri state unless you want an unprofessional, under prepared team and excuses should anything happen.

Not only did the movers not listen to instructions, they damaged my items, overcharged me, took their time to get paid more and left a mess. I do not recommend their services to anyone because they are truly unprofessional

I've dealt with alot of moving companies but never a company as fast, professional, and efficient as these guys. All the workers were very respectful and careful with my furniture and belongings. I would DEFINITELY recommend this company and I will be using there services for future moving. I forgot to mention there pricing was amazing.

I highly recommend this company. They showed up 30 minutes early and went to work instantly. They were efficient at moving and packing all of my items including a tv, couch, mattress, and about 10 boxes. They helped me move from DC to TWO locations in Alexandria. The price was great!! It was less than half of what you pay at big name movers. Please tip your movers! Very professional, I recommend them to anyone! Save your back and hire these guys!

The company was recommended by a friend and now after her experience of the two men making her help pack, sitting on their phone, dillydallying for 3 hours and frankly charging for silly things per roll of tape, how many boxes were taped, etc. Unprofessional and quite frankly not an honest company towards their customers. Thomas is the only one answering the phone and pushes you to call back the next day each time instead of handling the matter. Be wary of this company! Going to use another moving company for next month…. no one should go through that
