They mean well, they really do, but the checkout system is extremely antiquated and if you stop to buy something (boxes, in my case) it takes them ten to fifteen minutes of clicking on an ancient 90’s looking computer, followed by opening up a locked cash drawer underneath the counter somewhere, to check out. You have to ask for a receipt that prints out slowly on an old desktop PC printer. Please give these poor guys some actual registers, some actual point of sale equipment that isn’t from when Bill Clinton was president. Also, when it came time to give me change today, they didn’t have correct change, so they asked if I was OK with taking LESS, so they wouldn’t have to give me an extra quarter or whatever. Lordy. It’s like a procession of terrible from beginning to the insulting end when you get to leave. It’s a necessary business that provides a good service, it truly is. But it’s so poorly executed and so horrifically outdated that I dread every time I have to walk in the door, which I do regularly to purchase shipping supplies for work. The box selection is good, prices are decent. The entry and exit from this corner location are brutal, you can only get into it by approaching on Eubank from the north, all other three directions allow no entry. That they can’t really help. But after you wait to flip a u-turn in brisk traffic and with typical oblivious Albuquerque drivers and fight traffic to get in, you have to wait forever for the Clinton-Era computer system and a big burly guy that looks like he’d be more comfortable running a wood chipper than a vintage computer to try to manuever on an old mouse to ring you up. It’s truly an exercise in having patience and tolerating poor management for sure. The workers are only using what they are given to use, God Bless them, but whoever owns this franchise is a sorry excuse for a local business owner and has exactly zero pride or awareness of customer service / work flow. Overall rating- Sucks.

I scheduled a van for a 10AM pickup on Saturday, the 13th of July and when I showed up, I was told that the van had not arrived yet because another U-Haul employee was still using the van. This person was 2 hours late, so they scheduled me for Noon that day, instead. I will quote the U-Haul ‘Reservation Guarantee’, “Should U-Haul, through its own fault fail to meet time, place and equipment size of your truck, trailer or towing equipment, a $50 "Reservation Guarantee" will be paid and U-Haul will still attempt to fill the reservation.” This was not offered to be, however, I believe that since I agreed to reschedule to Noon, I forfeited eligiblity for this. I do not appreciate that this was not offered to me, and I do not appreciate that I was forced to inconvenience myself in order to make it easier on the employees. It should be the other way around.

The day I rented my truck for my move, the staff was wonderful. Today when I went inside, there was no staff inside. I waited inside for about 10 minutes and then I went outside. There was an employee outside. I tried to get his attention but he ignored me. I greeted him three times before he acknowledged me. He told me to hold on a second while he finished what was working on. I think Customer service a priority. There other U-Hauls - which I am now at.

The two gentlemen working in the evening at 530pm were not only helpful, but one of them went out of his way to help me check in with him instead of on my phone. Once he did that I went to get the truck, but the uhaul app wouldn't allow my phone to continue the process from my phone. I went back inside and the tall gentle walked me outside and saw that my phone wasn't responding to the app, so he approved everything and I was on my way. I brought the truck back 2 hours earlier than I needed it, and the shorter gentlemen was outside and helped me return it. That fast, that simple. I have only rented from this location in the past and will continue to do so because of the kind and wonderful employees. Great customer service!!

Don’t ever come here. I called first and they made me pay over the phone. No problem. Told them a friend would pick it up for me since he is helping me help out another friend who is stranded in Texas. I got to the location. No one was inside when I arrived. When someone did show up they said internet friend owed a balance and would not rent out to me. This man was not only rude but has horrible customer service. Uhaul should not allow crack head looking people to run their stores. What should have been an easy money for them turned into a lost customer. I also don’t like the fact that they limit you on how long you can have a car dolly. They said I have less than 12 hours to return it. Why lend something if you can’t even use it for at least a day! If you need a car rental, car dolly or even storage please feel free to contact me. I have them at reasonable prices.
