The trailer had a bald and out of round tire and it was filthy inside. this trailer was not looked at when it was returned. i was doing a one way rental to florida and this trailer was undriveable. i lost 2 days since i couldnt load it until the guy changed the tire so i had to pay another $60 when i dropped it off. when i unloaded the trailer one of my pieces of furniture had whatever was on the floor of the trailer stuck to the bottom of it and it ruined the carpet of my brand new house. overall this experience was the worst i have ever had and it was compounded by getting no response back from the place i picked it up. they said they couldnt get a hold of me so they closed out the case i had started. that was a lie. i could go on but since i cant get anyone to call me back with a resolution why bother. i have a big move coming up in january and i will not be using u-haul unless i am compensated for what i went through with this trailer

Wish I could give 0 stars. I rented a truck 2.5 weeks before my move. 2 days before my move they called and said the closest truck was located in Jersey City. They say there is a disclaimer on the website that the truck may not be available in preferred location. What is the point of booking in advance if they may not have your truck available? They wouldn’t offer any assistance or compensation and I’m beyond disappointed in this company. The only thing they would offer is to cover the additional miles. How kind of them, considering they’re the reason I have to incur additional miles to drive to Jersey City from Orange. I’m basically forced to accept this and drive an extra hour on the morning of my move because it is so close to my moving date. I will never rent a truck from this company again. They are very unreliable.

Update: The place is still short staffed. To top it off they’ve increased weekly rental rates for a smaller truck 20 cents a mile; and on weekends they put the price up 60 cents per mile. Which increases rental pricing significantly and the reasoning was to aid with the high demand on rentals. That is insane considering the place is still short staff and trucks aren’t properly taken care of. So let’s get more money from the customer and provide less quality. Old review: The young woman who helped me was great. However this location there’s never enough help, customers are left waiting, and the trucks aren’t always kept up. There is one truck gas was spilled into, a newer truck, and they still have not had the truck properly maintenance to remove the strong odor. This doesn’t take into consideration the long process to actually even rent a truck. They over charge various times and I have to call each time to get it fixed. The staff needs more help. The trucks need to be maintained better, half have censors that go off too. I’m not sure what the standard is but this is not it. I’ve been renting trucks here since last summer and this has continued to be the same problems. (I’ve rented over 20 times).

U-Haul is my favorite and I have been to almost every site in nj and now texas. I have to tell you the Orange NJ site with your employee Masters was an absolute pleasure. I will only be renting from this site and your GM was extremely professional. I WOULD GIVE 10 STARS IF I COULD. I appreciate yall.

This experience was as much of a disaster as possible. I made a reservation to access my u box at 10:00, but after jumping through a ton of hoops it wasn't out for 45 minutes. Once it was down, it couldn't be opened because one of the bolts was installed incorrectly and NO ONE had any tools to fix the issue. The guy who was originally helping me left without saying anything and then two different people came back after I was standing around for another 30 minutes. I ended up having to look through the toolbox in the warehouse myself to find any tools and ended up using a hammer on the box myself to open it. Complete joke.
