I rented a 12' truck. It was easy to drive and filled up my 10x10x10 storage almost to the top. It came with a roll ramp. Got about 7miles to the gallon city and 10 on hwy. Sarasota location was fine, I rented a truck and drove it to Tampa no problem, staff was friendly and professional here.

I had a trailer hitch installed on my SUV here. Alicia and Stephen provided INCREDIBLE customer service. Moving, boxes, installations, etc. are always such a hassle, but they made everything an absolute breeze with such a high degree of transparency and communication. Other corporations and franchises should emulate how they treat their customer. They have a loyal customer for life out of my and my family. I highly recommend this location

I had one of the worst customer service experiences ever with a service provider. When I first arrived for my appointment at U-Haul, South Sarasota, I was ignored for at least 10 minutes, manager in the office too busy with several phone calls at the same time, never looked at me once while I was trying to get her attention. Two customers came in after me and after waiting a while, they left. I went outside to get somebody’s attention and again was ignored by a lady and a man, cleaning out a truck with a blower and blowing the debris all over me, again no regard for the paying customer. I asked the lady if she can help and she said in a stern voice “you need to go inside”, I felt like I was being reprimanded. I went back inside and Finally after 20 minutes, the manager on the phone said to me from her office, “What do you Want, come on in”. I told her I have an appointment to have a hitch installed and she quickly turned and went back to her phone conversation. Finally after another period of time, she told me to sign the papers, still on the phone. The lady from outside came in and asked what I needed, same lady that told me to “go inside”. She took the papers off the printer and made me sign in several spots, ten minutes later, she takes off with my car keys, not sure where. The phone lady said, sit there and you can wait, no timeline. I went across the street to keep my nerves intact but before I left, I overheard both of the ladies talking about me being a very annoying man. They did not know I was still outside their office. No time to take care of customers but plenty of time to gossip about customers. Keep in mind, all of this was happening while the manager was still on the phone calls with several lines. I got a call that the vehicle is done. Came back to the shop and went to pay for it when I noticed that the total was over $60 over the written quote that I received. She said that “it is only a quote and prices can change and if I didn’t pay that they would take the hitch off the vehicle”. I felt that I was pressured to pay, so I did and left plus I was not going to wait several more hours for the hitch to come off. This is a terrible way to conduct business and I can’t believe that U-Haul would allow this conduct in their retail store.

they keep deleting my reviews but they over charged me 1000$ and are complete scammers. finally got my money back after a long process and contacted me a few days later saying they accidentally gave me the wrong amount back and need me to reimburse them $56, shadiest business i’ve ever seen.

The actual working staff were mostly friendly. One female there has no business working around the public as she possesses no PR skill whatsoever. I was overcharged by around $1600, which nearly left me stranded on my trip. I called the office to inform them that they had given me the wrong trailer (per an automated company text), and the manager proceeded to repeatedly try to insinuate that I was responsible for their issuing me the wrong trailer and for the erroneous charges. Worse still, the truck had a constant leak from the about shoulder height on the driver’s side door area, which funneled water from the constant rainstorms along my left side and down the back of the plastic seat, leaving me sitting in a puddle for the first 2 days of the trip. The staff did hook up the trailer correctly, though.
