All i can say is ALWAYS do your research. I had gastric bypass in 2019 at 19 years old with Roye that has come with FIVE YEARS of vomiting and not keeping food down(a family member also had the same surgery with him and ended up with a blockage as well) i went to Roye for 3 years for help before i moved and he just kept doing the same “treatment” of an EGD/Dialation even tho it didn’t work the same 3-5 times and said a revision wasn’t an option because it couldn’t be done. When confiding in him that all i could eat was mashed potatoes, he told me i needed to change that (even tho I threw up EVERYTHING other than mashed potatoes and told him that) because (his words) “he’s a little selfish and wants to have patients with the most weight lost” After 5 years of hospital stays, ER visits, procedures, throwing up, and finally finding a doctor that would listen (and who said he’s never heard of Dr. Roye and was curious and frustrated as to why Roye didn’t revise the surgery and left me to not get the right nutrients for five years.) i was told a revision COULD be done and will finally be able to eat and keep food down. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND DONT JUST BLINDLY TRUST THIS MAN OR ANYONE WHOS HAD A PROCEDURE WITH HIM. In my opinion roye should NOT have a medical license!!

Do your research in regards to bariatric surgery with him. Look up active cases or any cases that have been brought against him. If you are local to Dallas, go see Dr. Davis at Baylor in Dallas or Dr. Parcells with Methodist. I had to have surgery to correct issues from the original surgery.

Everything was great with this doctor and his practice until one month from my post op appointment. Dr. Roye repaired my umbilical hernia. He had a great bedside manner and after surgery he informed me and my family that everything had went smooth and I was good to go. Dr. Roye repeated that statement to me at my follow up appointment. He said it went great and I was healing good and no need to come back unless I had a concern. Great! Fast forward to one month after this appointment when I get a call saying I owe another $300 for the surgery I had over a month ago. Let me assure you, they will not perform this surgery until it’s paid in full. I have no insurance and paid $9,000 out of my pocket to have this done. I was blown away at this additional charge and asked why!?? The girl on the phone says well it says here that he had to do additional work during your surgery. It was strangulated. Why was this never brought up to me or my family until now? No answer. A strangulated hernia can be very serious and you mean to tell me Dr. Roye didn’t think it necessary to tell me? This is absolutely unacceptable. They will never see another dime from me even though they’ve already reported me to a collection agency.

Great doctor, good office staff . He did my hernia surgery that 3 other doctors refused to do. They said it was too dangerous. They said wait until its an EMERGENCY. They said I mostly likely would not survive then either. Dr Roye agreed with me. It was only growing each day making the surgery worse each day. He agreed it needed to come out as quickly as possible. He did a WONDERFUL job & I was back to WORK in 60 days. The other doctors said I would be out 6 mths to a year. What a difference when you gind the Correct Surgeon.
